New Skinscast Episode – The cursed

Thursday, November 17th, 2011

skinscastbang

No matter what the Redskins do lately, they appear snakebit and destined to lose. Make a change at quarterback; the guy throws two interceptions. A rookie receiver has a breakout day; he gets hurt and goes on injured reserve. They play another one win team; they walk away with another loss.

This week the boys breakdown the breakdowns on this Washington team. The offense is clearly the low point for the Redskins, but the defense lately has not been much better. The gang wonders if the team is getting better or getting worse and there is a prediction of a coordinator change at the end of the year.

Daniel and Murf team up to argue for patience and the turnaround they say is coming, while Pappas proclaims there won’t be a future for Mike Shanahan if next year looks like this.

And while all of this is going on, it’s Dallas week. Predictions all around.

New Skinscast Episode – Scraping bottom

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

skinscastbang

There’s nothing like a three-game skid to bring out the passion in the boys. This week the gang examines the depths to which the Redskins have sunk. Murf talks about what an ugly game like the one in Toronto looks like up close, while Pappas examines the obligations of fans in the face of such a poor product.

There’s more discussion of the quarterback, and wait until you hear what Murf is willing to give for a little Luck. Next, the spotlight is turned to the coach and his coordinator for a son.

Finally there’s a look toward this weekend – can anyone muster a positive prediction?

New Skinscast Episode – The bitter pill

Thursday, September 29th, 2011

skinscastbang

Reffkin is on travel and somebody left Pappas alone with the mic. What follows appears to be the ranting of a blithering idiot – discussing everything from a lost generation of fans, to people crying after games, to yelling at out of town followers.

Murf and Jackie finally appear and bring some sanity to the program; breaking down the loss to the Cowboys and looking forward to the contest in St. Louis. Things get feisty as blame for the debacle in Dallas is assigned, and there are predictions all around.

Rick Snider of the Washington Examiner appears for the writers and takes a objective view of where this team is at, and what we can expect moving forward.

New Skinscast Episode – Great beginnings

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

skinscastbangThe Washington Redskins wasted no time demonstrating that their success in the preseason was no fluke. They put a whoopin’ on the New York Giants, breaking the curse and notching their first win to start the season.

This week the boys break down the awesome start to the new year – passing out grades both good and bad. They examined the play at quarterback, what worked in the offense and defense, and what still needs work. Pappas gives credit where it is due as far as the play of the rookies, and all marvel and the femininity of Murf as he scurried out of the way of a very large linebacker.

The writers offer their assessment of the new Redskins’ team, and give out their grades on individual performances.

And all offer their thoughts on this weekend’s game against Arizona.

New Skinscast Episode – Showtime

Thursday, September 8th, 2011

skinscastbangThe preseason is over, the roster is set, the quarterback is determined, and what remains is the start of another glorious football season.

There is a lot to discuss this week. The boys take a look at the final 53-man squad and pass judgment on the final selections. Then of course there is the decision by head coach Mike Shanahan to name Rex Grossman the starting quarterback. The gang discusses how this came to be despite what appeared to be a fix for John Beck.

It’s once again prediction time on Skinscast, and this week brings double-duty. First a prediction of the game this weekend against the New York Giants. But next comes the all-important season record predictions.

The writers chime in with their perspective on the roster and quarterback situation, and take their own stab at the game this Sunday and the season record.

Enjoy!
