New Skinscast Episode – Rough sailing

After three games it has become obvious that the Washington Redskins are not a very good team. In fact, the opposite appears to be true.

This week the boys look at the 0-3 start and the most recent loss to Detroit. Despite an improved performance, the gang is convinced there was no moral victory to be had. A hard look at Robert Griffin III is called for, as well as the state of the defense. And what of the road ahead – is relief in sight?

No matter what; Murf has one coach packed up and on his way out of town.

Enjoy!

New Skinscast Episode – Disaster

Wednesday, September 18th, 2013

skinscastbang

The Redskins’ season has begun and it is a nightmare.

The offense is anemic; Robert Griffin III is nowhere near the athlete as last year, the running game can’t get going; they can’t score, the defense is arguably the worst the team has had in the history of ever; and after the team gets thru with all that – they commit dumb penalties.

This scenario is a far cry from the soaring optimism of the preseason. The questions now center around RGIII and his health, the terrible play of the defense, the lack of discipline with penalties, and where do we go from here?

A lot to cover so pay attention!

New Skinscast episode – The rehearsal

It was a surreal Game 3 of the preseason. With both the first and second-string quarterbacks hurt, there was a nostalgic feeling as Rex Grossman started for Washington. But fans were treated to the “Good Rex” and a dominating win over the Buffalo Bills.

With game four effectively a battle for roster spots, the starters are set to enter the regular season. This week the boys break down the game against Buffalo. RGIII didn’t play, but there was still plenty to see from the offense and defense with position battles afoot.

The gang also logs their season prediction and for once, Reffkin is not the negative one.

Enjoy!

New Skinscast Episode – The beasts of the east

Thursday, January 3rd, 2013

skinscastbangIn the climax to the 2012 NFL regular season, the Washington Redskins defeated bitter arch-rival the Dallas Cowboys to capture the NFC East crown and a place in the playoffs.

It was a game for the ages with a storybook ending.

This week the boys break down the awesome victory over the Cowboys. It was a throwback to days of yore. From the smashmouth running of Alfred Morris, to season best defensive performances from DeAngelo Hall and London Fletcher. An offense that managed another 28 points, and an opportunistic defense that created three takeaways. And then there was the magnificent gameplan on both sides of the ball.

It doesn’t get much sweeter than that.

But there’s another game just ahead, and this team is better than the one Washington just beat. The gang looks at a hot Seattle Seahawks team and talk about what the Redskins will need to do to stay alive in the postseason.

Enjoy!

New Skinscast Episode – Best present ever

Tuesday, December 25th, 2012

skinscastbangThe greatest possible ending to a season has unfolded. The Washington Redskins eeked out a win in Philadelphia and now will face their vaunted rival - the Dallas Cowboys – in a winner-take-division match. One will wear the crown. The other will likely sit home and watch.

This is one for the ages folks. We will speak of this one for years to come.

This week the boys talk about possibly the biggest regular season game in the history of the franchise. Heady times, but still football. The offense is clicking, even with a banged-up RGIII. The defense however is giving the gang pause for concern. But Dallas isn’t perfect – and they have their share of blemishes.

Most likely it comes down to desire and destiny.

Enjoy!
